Model United Nations

Model United Nations

Fairview's Model United Nations team attempts to understand the complex problems of international affairs as well as the purposes and functions of the United Nations.

Each November we participate in the Gannon University Model United Nations, the oldest, consecutively running conference in the world, where we represent various nations to which we are assigned and work with delegations from other area schools to pass resolutions addressing real-life issues. Leading up to the Gannon conference, we research our nations, specific international issues, and our nations' positions on those issues. We also participate in regional bloc meetings in the weeks leading up to the conference.

Each April we participate in a conference at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA and most years we travel to a large conference, which has included Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and American University in Washington, DC.
