Course Descriptions: 

English I- Emphasizing basic English skills and world literature, this course isdesigned to provide students with a common background in reading,writing, speaking, and listening competencies. Additionally, SATvocabulary development, reading, and information management will bestressed as skills necessary to prepare the student for college.

English II- This course is designed to improve students’ skills in reading,writing, and speaking by examining world literature. Additionally,vocabulary development and information management skills will bestressed, as will the skills necessary to prepare for college.

English III- Encompassing world and American literature; this course is designedto provide language and composition skills necessary for the successfulcollege-bound student. Vocabulary, grammar, and rhetorical skills willbe evaluated in the classroom through a multitude of assessments.

English IV- Emphasizing world and American literature, this course is designed toprovide language and composition skills necessary for the college boundstudent. This course will integrate the following skills: literaryanalysis, composition, vocabulary, basic language and presentationskills, and technology.
