Spanish Club is open to any FHS student who take Spanish Course. The club meets once a month and provides opportunities for the members to participate in activities related to the language and the culture.
In addition to practicing the Spanish language through games and conversation, cultural activities include making papel picado cut paper for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), hosting a Christmas fiesta with the Spanish lottery tradition (students can win gift cards to local restaurants). Our major community event is SALSA Y SALSA which we have hosted for three years now and collaborate with Iroquois High School. It is an evening where the students get to meet other students who enjoy the Spanish language, learn how to salsa (from our very own Mrs. Froehlich), and sample different salsas.
