Students in Creative Writing updated artist Phillip Niemeyer's chart where he symbolically captured American life from 2000-2009. They had a limited amount of time to interpret one year metaphorically by considering different elements of society (fads, fears, It!, etc.). Many groups interpreted 2024. Victoria and Sammi came up with the most metaphors for multiple years, Bear's group reflected on 2020, and Leena, Makenzi, Rachel, and Peyton remembered the killer clowns that scared us all in 2016.

Students in Mr. Parmeter's classroom are using scatter plots and fitting of a line to take real world data and write equations of a line. (y=mx+b). Using the equation of a line the students are predicting what the data would look like in the future, as well what it would have looked like in the past. Connecting the math to the real world, helps in the understanding of the content while motivating them tp be good problem solvers.

Photo II students explored analog photography. They learned how to think in black and white, expose film, develop negatives and print in the darkroom. This process helped the students slow down and pay attention to details. They also had to work through setbacks and think about many factors that could change their images.
