Our Erie Experience class visited Triple Creek Maple Farm in Cranesville to learn about the history, science, and business of maple syrup and sugar production. Thank you to Gary Bilek, a maple farmer and retired teacher for his depth of knowledge and patience.

Our Erie Experience students had the chance to experience a private tour of the Erie Cemetery and learn how its history has shaped our community.




This photo is from March 4th at the Gannon CFL Qualifier Tournament. In the photo, Michael Gourlias 1st and Theo Nacopoulous 3rd qualified for Nationals in Student Congress. Adam Chiocco 1st and Peter Trabold 3rd qualified for states in Extemporaneous Speaking. Shaheer Essa 1st, Lucky Aaluri 2nd, and Tanmay Sharma 3rd qualified for Nationals in Declamation.

Nick Scott Jr. spoke to our students about his family immigrating from Greece and how they build their business into what it is today. This was a great opportunity for our students to learn the history behind a successful local business and how it ties into our Erie culture. Fairview School Foundation FHS February Student of the Month


FHS Business Academy students have been volunteering with the United Way and Erie Free Taxes each Saturday of tax season. So far, FHS students have helped file over 50 tax returns for Erie County residents. All students spent the fall semester studying for the IRS VITA exams. If you would like access to IRS-sponsored free tax preparation software (Income limit of $73,000/per return) please email vita@fairviewschools.org.



While studying William Golding's novel Lord of the Flies, Ethan successfully blows the conch, just like the boys stranded on the island in the story do.

Our Erie Experience students had the opportunity to visit a maple syrup farm and visit their sugar shack.





Guest speaker Julio Quezada, Fairview grandparent and leader of the local band Mambo, met with Spanish Club and 4th period Spanish 2 last week. We learned about la clave and the other percussion instruments needed to create all the different genres of Latin music. ¡Nos encanta tocar la música!

Our students in Erie Experience enjoyed a guest speaker, Jeff Sherry, from the Hagan History Center. Mr. Sherry presented on the War of 1812 and Erie's role in this event.
