The Erie Experiences classes completed a mini unit of "Eerie" Legends hosted by Mr. Barbour. The class learned about the UFO sighting on Presque Isle in the 1960s and the legends that "haunt" Erie today. The classes visited Gudgeonville Bridge, the Pet Cemetery, Axe Murder Hollow, and the Weis Cemetery as part of their class tours.
A very special thank you to our own Madelynn K in 4th grade for designing our Autism Acceptance Week t-shirts this year! They look fabulous!
Erie County Technical School March Student of the Month.
CP Chemistry students have completed several hands on lab experiences thus far in the semester. These examples show analyses of compounds to determine the relative polar/nonpolar/ionic character of substances. The budding chemists also performed reactions from each of the five categories; synthesis, decomposition, single replacement, double replacement, and combustion. These experiences solidify the content and will be part of the students forever memories.

We have been working with Special Olympics PA to plan a FUN-raiser for the school. Since Fairview High School is a Unified Champion School with Unified Bocce and Unified Track & Field, we feel it is important to give back to the organization.

The Rain Rally is a way for students to experience the polar-plunge fun without leaving school grounds.
The FHS Ceramic class students participated in a raku firing at PennWest University. We witnessed our pots glowing red at 1500 degrees and set on fire in cans of sawdust. When the lids were put on the cans it created a reduction atmosphere to achieve the signature raku glaze effect we were aiming for. In addition to the firing we toured the numerous art classrooms in multiple buildings on campus, participated in a hands-on activity, and watched a live pottery demonstration. The students gained exposure and experience in what a college art program can offer. What a great day!
The Pre-AP Biology looks on as Aaron Darold, with assistance from Norah Naber, solves genetics problems using his knowledge of the rules of probability.

Students in Mrs. Fair's tenth grade ELA tried sonnet painting on Beach Day. Each student chose a Shakespearean sonnet to analyze and showed their interpretation of the themes and images in the poem through painting with watercolors. Students enjoyed painting their poems to tropical music as they awaited their Beach Day activities.
Hello Fairview Family! We are in Ms. Turner’s first period science class, and we are involved in a school recycling project. We are going to try to make a hard-to-recycle drive. It is essentially where we, as the school, provide used products that are hard to recycle but are able to be. We will then send those products to a company that is able to recycle them. This is to prevent wasting products that could’ve been recycled. Throughout these next couple weeks, we will be updating the school on everything to take part and accomplish this hard-to-recycle job. We are hoping to do this for our class project. We will have more information in the next upcoming weeks.
Deadline for ordering a yearbook is April 19th.
EARTH ACTION PLAN from MS. Turner's Class: Imagine living in a world that is slowly disintegrating into nothing due to greenhouse gas emissions and running out of energy along with our resources. Food waste is when food that is fit for consumption is continuously discarded and wasted. Food being constantly wasted is not only a social issue, but also a large environmental issue that needs our attention before it gets out of hand. So next time you find yourself throwing out food that is perfectly good, think about all the ways you could be helping the environment and our future generations if you kept that food out of the trash and our landfills.
