So what is all the hype about? Planets in “alignment”. The planets in this model have been positioned to mimic how the real planets are arranged in space in our solar system. See how they are all on the same side of the Sun. So when the Sun sets, this allows all of the planets to be visible in our dark evening sky. They are not literally in a line, but they are all visible on one side of the Sun after sunset. Think positively for clear evening skies over the next few days/weeks so we can have opportunities to view this once in a lifetime (or once in millennia) spectacular sight.

Gianni was 7th overall on trombone, Morgan was 4th overall on flute and Jabin and Annika both placed 1st overall on trumpet and french horn, respectively. Annika, Jabin and Morgan also earned placement into the next level, PMEA Region Band to be held in March. Congratulations to all.

Jan 22-25, fourteen FHS students presented independent research projects in front of judging panels for the 2025 PJAS Competition. (Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science) Students designed, conducted experiments, collected and correlated data, and then prepared a presentation for judges. We are so excited and proud of all of these hard working students. Many also participate in several other activities. Thankfully, we were able arrange for them to be judged in an alternative schedule. Twelve of our presenters achieved 1st place awards against scoring rubrics in their field of STEM study. Those students will now be eligible to revise their work and present at the State PJAS completion in May. Participants this year are; Anish Pabbati, Nora Khan, Cate McGinty, Nena Pfeffer, Mariya Hoja, Yatish Seelam, Lennon Cook, Kashyap Aaluri, Partheev Charakula, Aadric Fox, Ulyana Hoja, Logan Thompson, Jailyn Bull, and Jared Gavio.
