Mrs. Shahzadi and Masa created a wonderful Eid display in the library. All are welcome to share their cultural and holiday traditions in the FHS library. Please feel free to stop by and take a look. We have our Christmas decorations up, and this Eid display is a beautiful addition to our holiday atmosphere. Using micropipets, PCR, and gel electrophoresis equipment purchased with a Fairview School Foundation Mini-Grant, AP Biology students complete a crime lab. Elliot Yochim and Caden Surrett load samples into a MiniPCR. Norah Naber prepares her gel and Annika Biggs loads sample into the gel electrophoresis chamber. A group of students traveled to Erie Insurance for "Be an Actuary Day". Several Erie Insurance professionals spoke to them about careers in actuary science. They also worked on an insurance rates case study with students from other schools, before taking a tour of the Erie Insurance campus.

As a culmination to their Community Unit, the AP Language and Composition students provided insightful analysis in a graded discussion on the concept of the individual’s responsibility to the community. The students’ responses demonstrated strong critical thinking and awareness of societal issues.

A spectacular debate took place as Ms. Nelson’s American Studies students faced each other across “no man’s land” while asserting unique points of view related to the US role in World War I.
