11th grade CP Chem students spent two days investigating various types of chemical reactions. We made some noise for our neighbors.
Fairview High School Freshman Mariya Hoja represented the state of Pennsylvania at the first annual National Civics Bee, held in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Mariya finished in the top ten of all students competing. Congratulations Mariya on this tremendous accomplishment!
Partners Club had a Friendsgiving Event on November 14th with fun games of Trivia and Charades to get us ready for Thanksgiving. Mrs. Yatsko was excited at the turnout---39 attendees.

On Halloween, freshman environmental science students designed creative profiles for a variety of creepy organisms to show their knowledge of the creature’s interactions and habitat. There were a lot of great ones, and the classes voted for their favorites.

Local accountants from PICPA visited the FHS accounting students. Amy Swartzfager, CPA from Cook Wealth, Scott Herzing, CPA from McGill, Power, Bell, and Associates, LLP and David Niemira, CPA from Fairview School District shared their career journey to the accounting profession. The accounting professionals shared what kind of career opportunities are available in the accounting field, and how accountants can help businesses and individuals meet financial goals.

Halloween is a great time to see students break out of their comfort zones and try something new. These three came up with an award-winning group costume as the 3 Amigos.
Juniors and seniors were invited to Beaumont Technologies this week to learn about the history of the company, the products they make and the opportunities for employment. The students enjoyed the hands-on approach to learning and the hospitality offered by the staff.
FHS students visited Penn State Behrend for the annual Business Day. Students attended mock college classes related to finance, international business, MIS, accounting, marketing, and sports administration. Students also toured campus and had lunch in the dining hall.
These AP Calculus students have been working very hard and earned a "green" score on the last College Board assignment. Keep up the hard work.
